Shingle Roofing Process

Remove the existing roof the existing roof down to the decking.

Remove and replace any rotted wood sheathing.

Re-nail the decking using 8d ring shank nails to “code plus” strength. (May qualify for insurance savings)

|
Install either a 30 lb felt underlayment or a Peel and Stick underlayment
|
 |
|
Replace/Install self-flashed, all in one tempered glass hurricane rated, leak proof skylights
|
 |
|
Install valley metal down all valley areas
|
 |
|
Install new lead boots over plumbing stacks where appropriate. Paint to match roof color
|
 |
|
Install new ventilation over bathroom, kitchen, and dryer exhaust openings.
|
 |
|
Install drip edge around the entire perimeter of the home attached with nails and sealed with mastic
|
 |
|
Install special high wind resistant starter shingles around perimeter of roof
|
 |
|
Install a low profile shingled over ridge vent to provide proper attic ventilation
|
 |
|
Roll the yard with a magnet to remove nails and other debris.
|
 |
|
Schedule final inspection
|
